The Arts Strong at French School of Austin Ecole Jean Jacques Rousseau
Founded by native French speakers and distinguished educators with a background in the performing arts, the French School of Austin, or Ecole Jean Jacques Rousseau (EJJR), provides an immersive bilingual education for those age three and older. In addition to gaining fluency in both French and English, students receive a rigorous education and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

Drawing from their experience in the performing arts, the founding Louali family uses music, poetry, theater, and the visual arts at the EJJR to help students become comfortable with oral language skills. The arts curriculum boosts students' social skills while heightening their confidence and self-expression. Preschoolers begin with fingerpainting and later explore a variety of arts mediums. Students must participate in the mandatory violin or cello program, but also have the opportunity to take lessons for guitar, piano, and voice. Other arts options include participation in the theater program.

Twice each year students of the EJJR have the opportunity to share what they have learned in the arts with their families and communities. Performances take place at Christmas and at the end of the year and include Christmas songs, popular songs, plays taken from France's rich literature, and instrumental recitals. Past performances have featured choices ranging from the play Cyrano de Bergerac to songs such as Noel que du Bonheur and Au Clair De La Lune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX4Fol4wJpg
